Leonard Gordon Sutton Ludlow was born in Warwick in 1898, the son of Harry and Laura Mary Ludlow and elder brother of the actor Patrick Ludlow. Serving with the 4th Battalion K.O.Y.L.I. he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 14 June 1916. He was killed in action on 11 August 1918. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
