Frederick George Boniface was killed in action on the Somme on 23 July 1916, while serving in the 2nd Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment - alongside the 2nd Battalion, K.R.R.C., his unit was met with heavy machine-gun fire in an attack on Munster Alley. Aged 24 years, and the son of David and Amelia Boniface of Brighton, Sussex, he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
