Stanley Paul Theys was commissioned into the Royal Sussex Regiment on 14 September 1940. Promoted a War Substantive Lieutenant in March 1942; Temporary Captain in June 1945; Captain in July 1946, and Major in September 1953. He retired in 1966. During 1942-46 he was employed by the Air Ministry, during which time he served with the Iraq Levies. He was later Staff Captain at the War Office, May 1951; Eastern Command, December 1952, March 1957 and February 1963, and London District, July 1964.
