M.S.M. London Gazette 14 June 1918. ‘... in recognition of valuable services rendered with the Forces in France during the present war’.

Private Edward Ward, Royal West Kent Regiment, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 11 March 1915. Later, serving with the 219th Employ Company Labour Corps in France he was awarded the M.S.M. The recipient came from Deptford, S.E. London.
