François Eberhardt was a distinguished French automobile engineer and onetime President of the Automobile Club of Imperial Russia.

Swetchine, ‘Ancien Aide de Camp de S.M. l’Empereur de Russia, Ancien Vice-Président Administrateur de l’Automobile Club Impériale de Russia ... Officier de la Légion d’Honneur’. The document lists François Eberhardt’s various appointments, notably his war service in charge of a column of ambulances where he distinguished himself in services to the wounded of the Army of the North; this service and devotion to duty being noted by several army commanders.
