Original pilot’s flying log books appertaining to Warrant Officer S. W. Eckersley, Royal Air Force, comprising Royal Air Force (Form 414) examples (2), the first covering the period October 1941 to March 1943, and the second the period April 1943 to September 1945, generally in good condition (2) £150-200

Stuart Wharton Eckersley transferred from the Lancashire Fusiliers to the Royal Air Force in July 1941 and commenced pilot training at No. 3 E.F.T.S. at R.A.F. Watchfield in November 1941. Having then attended further courses in the U.S.A., he returned to the U.K. at the end of 1942 and was appointed a flying instructor at No. 7 A.F.U. at Peterborough - similar appointments followed at White Waltham, Little Rissington, Ternhill and elsewhere, and although posted to No. 65 Squadron, a Mustang unit, in late April 1945, he saw no action.
