Frederick Buisson Evans was born in Hampstead on 9 August 1874. Educated at St. Paul’s School and then at Trinity College, Oxford where he gained a M.A. He served in the Madras Presidency from 1898, mainly in the district of Malabar and in the Secretariat. He was the Collector of Malabar, 1915-19; Special Secretary to Government for Reforms, 1920; and Special Civil Officer in the Malabar Rebellion, 1921-22. For his services he was awarded the C.S.I. in 1922. In 1925 he was the Second Secretary to the Government. He retired in 1928. Latterly living at Star House, East Blatchington, Seaford, Sussex; he died on 8 September 1952. Sold with copied biographical details.
