Canada General Service 1866-70, 1 clasp, Fenian Raid 1866 (Capt. C. R. Leslie, 1/25. K.O. Bds.) engraved naming, good very fine £450-550

Charles Robert Leslie was the son of the Rev. Charles Leslie, afterwards the Bishop of Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh. Educated at Harrow School (Dr Vaughan’s House) 1855-58, he entered the Army in 1858, being commissioned an Ensign in the King’s Own Borderers on 12 November 1858. He was promoted to Lieutenant in October 1860 and Captain in December 1864. He accompanied the 1st Battalion to Canada, 1865-67. He retired on Half-Pay in 1870 and was granted the honorary rank of Major in July 1881.
