Alexander Davison’s Medal for The Nile 1798, bronze-gilt, contained in a contemporary gilt glazed frame with integral loop and ring for suspension, the edge inscribed in contemporary script ‘Wm. Brownett Carpenter of His Majesty’s Ship Goliah (sic) of 74 Guns’, reverse glass lacking, otherwise very fine £600-800

William Brownett is confirmed on the muster roll of Goliath for the battle of the Nile as Carpenter’s Crew, aged 28, born London, discharged 6 December 1799 to Royal William.
