The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, O.B.E. (Military) Officer’s 1st type breast badge, silver-gilt, hallmarks for London 1919; British War Medal 1914-20 (Eng. Commr., R.N.R.), in glazed wooden case, good very fine (2) £100-140

O.B.E. London Gazette 1 January 1919. ‘In recognition of valuable services rendered in connection with the war’.

Commander Graham received his award at Buckingham Palace on 3 March 1920. He died on 31 January 1965, aged 90 years. Sold with a congratulatory note from the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway, to ‘Hon. Engr. Commander W. A. Graham, O.B.E., R.N.R., Marine Shops, Newhaven’. With O.B.E. case.
