Alik Leith Matthews was born on 28 October 1908, was a Master Tailor by profession and enlisted in New South Wales in February 1942. He served as a Sergeant in the 11th Armoured Cavalry Regiment and was discharged on 11 January 1946.

Michael John Gilmore was a Corporal Cook in the R.A.A.F., in which he served from 1964 to 1976, latterly based at R.A.A.F. Base Pearce, at Bullsbrook, north of Perth, Western Australia.
