A scarce ‘Murmansk’ M.S.M. group of five awarded to Acting Sergeant George Rudolff, Royal Field Artillery, a Russian national who served previously in the Mercantile Marine

M.S.M. London Gazette 3 October 1919: ‘In recognition of valuable service rendered with the British Force in North Russia - Murmansk Command.’

George Rudolff was born at Riga, Russia, on 28 July 1890. His Mercantile Marine service card, his Medal Index Card and the London Gazette all show his surname as spelt on the relevant medals. The Russian Cross of St George, which has a pre-1913 number, has not been confirmed. Sold with copies of these records which include a photograph of the recipient wearing medal ribbons. Approximately 96 M.S.M.s awarded for Murmansk, including 5 to the R.F.A.
