Thomas Jhn Smith was born and lived in Limpsfield, Surrey and enlisted at Redhill, Surrey. Serving with the 6th Battalion The Queen’s Regiment, he was wounded and admitted to hospital in May 1915. He was killed in action during the battle of the Somme on 3 July 1916, aged 16 years. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. Sold with a photograph of the recipient, a group photograph of recovering troops and nursing staff, a card informing that he had been wounded and had been admitted to hospital, a named memorial card, and copied reseach.
