William Ball, who enlisted in the Royal Engineers in March 1912, first entered the French theatre of war with 11th Field Company, R.E. in mid-August 1914. Having then gained advancement to Temporary Corporal, he was discharged as a result of wounds in May 1919 (copied S.W.B. list refers and verifies issue number as above).
