Pair: Sergeant W. A. Cordeaux, Royal Fusiliers

Tibet 1903-04, 1 clasp, Gyantse, this a contemporary copy (2626 Sergt. W. Cordeaux, 1st Bn. Ryl. Fuslrs.); Army L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., 1st issue (SR-1488 Sjt. W. A. Cordeaux, R. Fus.) together with four parchment certificates of Discharge and Character, Account Book and Pocket Ledger, and various testimonial letters, contact marks, otherwise very fine (2) £500-600

William Ambrose Cordeaux was born in the Parish of Bedale, Yorkshire, and enlisted in London for the Royal Fusiliers on 14 May 1886, aged 19 years 6 months. He was employed in the Bombay Police Force from June 1894 until August 1900. His parchment certificate of discharge confirms Tibet medal and clasp, and Long service medal which was awarded in 1921. Cordeaux was dicharged at Parkhurst in November 1907, and afterwards worked as a Platform man and Liftman with the Central London Railway for two and a half years, and as a Doorman and Lift Attendant with Messrs. Harrods from November 1910 to July 1912, after which he went into private service.
