Joe Harrison, who was born in Hyde, Cheshire, was killed in action on the Somme on 28 July 1916, while serving in the Machine Gun Corps (Infantry). He was 31 years of age, has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.

George Bickerdyke, who was born in Hyde, Cheshire, was killed in action in the Ypres salient on 20 February 1915, while serving in the 1st Battalion, Welsh Regiment. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.

William Creswell, who was born in Hyde, Cheshire, was killed in action on the Somme on 14 July 1916, while serving in the 2nd Battalion, King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. He was 21 years of age and is buried in the Blighty Valley Cemetery, Authulie Wood on the Somme.

Stanley Harrison, who was born in Tintwistle, Cheshire and enlisted in Hyde, was killed in action in the “German Spring Offensive” on 14 April 1918, while serving in the 6th Battalion, Liverpool Regiment. He is buried in the Post Office Rifles Cemetery at Festubert.
