William John Stevens was born in Clifton, Bedfordshire and enlisted at London. Serving as a Serjeant Drummer in the 1st Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 27 April 1915, aged 39 years. He was buried in the Dickebusch New Military Cemetery. He was the husband of Florence R. Steven, of 52 Gascony Avenue, West Hampstead, London.
