Mentioned in Despatches London Gazette 19 May 1950 (Malaya) and 14 April 1959 (Cyprus).

Colonel Anthony Creswick Elcomb was born in 1924, transferring from the Royal Marines to the K.O.Y.L.I. in 1946, with which regiment he remained, attaining the rank of Colonel in June 1973. During this time he held a number of senior staff appointments, including two postings to Washington. A note accompanying the lot states that Elcomb was additionally entitled to the 1939-45 Star, Burma Star, Defence and War Medals.
