Three: Serjeant H. J. Perkins, 20th Battalion London Regiment and King’s African Rifles

Herbert J. Perkins enlisted into the 20th Battalion London Regiment on 7 September 1914 and entered into the France/Flanders theatre of war on 19 August 1915. After service with the battalion at the battle of Loos, September 1915, he returned to England. He then volunteered for service with the King’s African Rifles and was posted to the 3rd Battalion at Limbe in Nyasaland. He returned from Nyasaland in the Spring of 1919 and was discharged due to sickness on 25 June 1919. Awarded the Silver War Badge. Sold with copied m.i.c. and S.W.B. roll extract, together with a typescript sheet from Mrs Perkins of Kingskerswell, Devon, dated 1960, this providing some of her husband’s service details. Also with a cap badge and two ‘T20 London’ shoulder titles
