This lot was sold as part of a special collection, The Collection of Medals to the Cheshire and Manchester Regiments, Rifle Brigade and Royal Green Jackets formed by the late David Boniface.

The last two listed recipients may well have been former members of ther National Reserve - charged with guarding “vulnerable points” in the U.K. - their regimental numbers being those allocated to members of the 19th - 24th (Territorial) Battalions, Rifle Brigade. Burt also served in the London Regiment and Heaton in the Labour Corps and Royal Lancaster Regiment (their MIC entries refer).
