Robert Alexander Furness, who was born in Edinburgh, originally enlisted in the Royal Engineers, but later transferred to the Rifle Brigade and was attached to 1/8th Battalion, London Regiment when he died of wounds on 15 October 1918. He was 29 years of age, the husband of Margaret of Rossie Place, Edinburgh, and is buried in Houchin British Cemetery, France; sold with his original Memorial Scroll.
