George Langworth Collins, who was born in Salford, Lancashire, was killed in action in France on 26 May 1915, while serving in the 2nd Battalion, Rifle Brigade. He is buried in Aubers Ridge British Cemetery. The following notice was published in the Manchester Evening News on 14 June 1915:
‘Collings - Rifleman G. L. Collings, No. 7566, Rifle Brigade. Killed in action somewhere in France on 26 May. Deeply mourned by his wife and children and many members of the Loyal Order of Ancient Shepherds.’
