George Gouge, who was born In Carlisle, Cumberland, but resident in Stockport at the time of his enlistment, was killed in action at Fricourt on 12 February 1916, while serving in the 1/6th Battalion, Cheshire Regiment. He was 32 years of age and is buried in Dartmoor Cemetery, Becordel-Becourt, France; note his surname spelling as ‘Guage’ on the above described award.

J. Adamson died of wounds on 7 June 1917, while serving in the 11th Battalion Cheshire Regiment, and is buried in the Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension (Nord).
