4617 Private W. F. Jeffries, 1st Battalion Devonshire Regiment, was severely wounded at Elandslaagte, 21 October 1899, and was dangerously injured in an accident at Machadodorp, 23 September 1901. He died of his injuries on 26 September 1901. He was interred at Machododorp.
