Robert Lewis Norman was born in Honiton and enlisted at Exeter. Serving with the 9th Battalion Devonshire Regiment he won the M.M. at the battle of Bullecourt, May 1917 - one of 10 awarded to the battalion for that action. Serjeant Norman was killed in action on 25 June 1917. He was buried in the Queant Road Cemetery, Buissy. Sold with coped research.
