Only 65 R.N.V.R. L.S. & G.C. medals awarded during the reign of Edward VII.

Richard William Charlesson was appointed a Sub-Lieutenant in the Royal Naval Artillery Volunteers on 3 July 1883, and was in the Liverpool Brigade. Although the R.N.A.V. were disbanded on 1 April 1892, the names of the officers were retained in the half-yearly Navy List of January and July each year, Charlesson’s name appearing until July 1924.
