John Coverdale was born at Lincoln on 6 December 1878. He was a fitter and turner by profession and joined as an actiong Engine Room Artificer 4th Class on 15 December 1894. He received his L.S. & G.C. medal on 21 February 1913 and subsequently a Bar to that medal (not yet confirmed). Sold with copy record of service up to 21 February 1917 when he appears to have been invalided with diabetes. His subsequent service is not known.
