Dennis Edward Durrant, a pre-war member of the Rhodesian Territorials, was called up in September 1939 and, following a brief appointment on the strength of the Royal Armoured Corps out in Egypt, reverted back to the auspices of the Southern Rhodesian Military with an appointment as a Driver in the 11th Division Reconnaissance Unit in April 1941. Subsequently employed as a Trooper in the T.O.S. from October 1942, and by East African Forces from February 1944, he was awarded his Efficiency Medal by H.E. the Governor in July of the latter year and his Rhodesian Police Reserve Long Service in August 1977; sold with copied service record.
