Ali Bin Majid entered the Army on 12 December 1947. He joined the Royal Army Service Corps and served with the West Yorkshire Regiment in Penang. In July 1948 he transferred to the Royal Military Police and was promoted to Acting Lance-Corporal. By May 1949 he had been advanced to Acting Sergeant. In February 1951 he was charged under Section 40 of the Army Act for failure to obey an order and was as a result demoted to Corporal. In April the same year he was charged under Section 15 of the Army Act for failure to turn up for P.T. Parade and was admonished. That same month he reverted to the rank of Private at his own request and was discharged on completion of his period of engagement. He then joined the Federation of Malay Police where he served in the Panah Raja Police District of the Cameron Highlands and attained the rank of Inspector. He retired from the service on 2 March 1959. Sold with copied service details.
