Ralph V. Merry, a member of the Royal Field Artillery (Territorials), arrived in Southern Rhodesia in April 1928, where he initially settled with his brother at Banket. He subsequently served in the Army in the 1939-45 War and qualified for the Southern Rhodesia Medal for War Service. His Jubilee and Coronation Medals require verification.
