Three: Second Lieutenant E. Smallman, Royal Engineers, late Royal Naval Air Service, who died on 19 November 1916

Edward Smallman enlisted into the R.N.A.S. as a Petty Officer Mechanic (E) on 3 May 1915. Based on President II, he served in the Armoured Car Division in France until December 1915. Later commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Engineers, he died of disease on 19 November 1916. He was buried in Richmond Cemetery, Surrey. Sold with original Admiralty condolence slip to accompany the medals sent to Miss F. E. Smallman. Also with copied service paper and m.i.c.
