Edward Percy Castle was born in Walthamstow, Essex and enlisted at Stratford. Serving with the 1st Life Guards, he was killed in action on 13 May 1915, aged 23 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. He was the son of William Moody and Elizabeth Castle of 19 Cleveland Park Crescent, Walthamstow, London.
