Harry Cummings was born in Banff. A Law Clerk by occupation, a member of the 6th V.B. Gordon Highlanders, and a former member of the 2nd Service Company Gordon Highlanders, he attested for service with Lovat’s Scout Imperial Yeomanry on 2 November 1901, aged 26 years, 7 months. With them he served in South Africa, December 1901-August 1902. Sold with copied attestation papers for service in Lovat’s Scouts.
