Fred Perrin was born in Lanarckshire. A Groom by occupation and serving in the Hampshire Militia, he attested for service with the Hampshire Regiment on 22 September 1893, aged 19 years. With the 2nd Battalion he served in South Africa, January 1900-September 1902. Transferred to the Army Reserve in December 1902, he was discharged on completion of his period of service in September 1905. Sold with copied service papers.
