1914 Star, with copy clasp (9161 Pte. H. Saxon, 2/Manch. R.); 1914-15 Star (11062 Pte. M. Francis, Hamps. R.) good very fine (2) £80-100

Harold Saxon was born in Hadfield, Derbyshire and enlisted at Manchester. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Manchester Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 25 October 1914. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial.

Martin Francis was born in and enlisted at Gosport, Hampshire. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Hampshire Regiment, he was killed in action in Gallipoli on 26 April 1915.
