Transport Medal 1899-1902, 1 clasp, S. Africa 1899-1902 (A. L. Brown) edge nicks, good very fine £400-450

Alexander Laurie Brown was awarded his Transport Medal for services as a Ship’s Surgeon aboard the S.S. City of Vienna of the Ellerman Line, having qualified in medicine at Glasgow University and Anderson’s College, Glasgow in 1899. He appears to have remained similarly employed by the Clyde Shipping Company and was resident at Terregles Avenue, Lockshields, Glasgow in 1915.
