Joseph Greaves was born in the Parish of Ryhall, Stamford, Rutland. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the Indian Military Forces on 13 April 1859, aged 20 years. After over six years service in India with the 101st Foot, he was discharged on 30 September 1865 as being unfit for further service. Sold with copied service papers.
