Waterloo 1815 (Joseph Bilson, 1st or Royal Dragoons) original steel clip and replacement ring suspension, edge bruising, scratches to obverse and edge, good fine £1000-1400

Private Joseph Bilson served in Captain Henry Carden’s No.3/B. Troop, 1st Dragoons, in the Waterloo Campaign. He was admitted to Chelsea Hospital as an out-pensioner, upon reduction of the regiment, on 24 October 1821, having served 17 years 2 months, including two years for Waterloo. A labourer from Reading, Berkshire, he was then aged 34 years and granted a pension of 5 pence per day.
