Military General Service 1793-1814, 4 clasps, Salamanca, Vittoria, Nivelle, Nive (C. O’Neil Prendergast, Capt. 3rd Ft. Gds.) minor edge bruising, otherwise very fine £1600-1800

Charles O’Neil Prendergast entered the 3rd Foot Guards as an Ensign in August 1809, and served in the Peninsula from December 1811 until March 1814, being present at the capture of Madrid, the siege of Burgos, the affair at Osma, the attack at St Jean de Luz, passage of the Adour and the investment of Bayonne, in addition to participating in the battles of Salamanca, Vittoria, Nivelle and Nive. Promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel on the Unattached List in May 1826, Prendergast was advanced to Major-General in November 1851.
