D.C.M. London Gazette 11 March 1920. ‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. All through the operations he has rendered invaluable service in the charge of ammunition convoys, and when in charge of his gun; and by his fine example of courage and coolness has often saved casualties to men and horses under his charge. He has always set an excellent example to his men’.
