Cadet Alexander Noble was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Scots (London Gazette 19 July 1946). He was promoted to Lieutenant with the Cameronians (London Gazette 30 July 1948) and was dismissed from the Service by sentence of a General Court Martial on 17 March 1954 (London Gazette 30 April 1954).
