James Anderson was born in Grangemouth, Stirlingshire, on 1 August 1894. A Railway Parcels Clerk by occupation, he enlisted into the Cameron Highlanders and entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 8 July 1915. He was wounded on 13 August 1916, receiving a gunshot wound to his left side. He transferred to the R.F.C. on 30 August 1917 and remained with them in France until 29 August 1919. Sold with original photograph and copied service papers and m.i.c.
