John Francis Joseph Drummond was born in Aberdeen, Scotland and lived at Richmond, Surrey. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 20 April 1917 whilst serving with the 1st Battalion, East Kent Regiment.

Sold together with a quantity of original documentation, including four copies of The Dragon regimental magazine, which include various cartoon sketches drawn by Drummond; two of his sketch books; account book; and a number of photographs of recipient, including one of his original grave marker.
