William Mahon served in France from 13 August 1914, being wounded in action at the beginning of November 1914 and admitted to No. 3 Clearing Hospital on 2 November. He was again wounded in April 1914 when he received a gunshot wound to his left elbow as a result of which he was subsequently discharged, his condition being described as ‘elbow fixed and hand wasted.’ Sold with copied service papers.
