Gomer Jenkins was born in Llantrisant, Glamorgan, and living in Hopkinstown, enlisted at Birmingham. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 11 August 1914. He was killed in action on 25 October 1914. Private Jenkins was buried in the Pont-du-Hem Military Cemetery, La Gorgue. Sold with original Commemorative Scroll and Memorial Plaque card envelope and slip; together with a folder containing copied m.i.c., research and photographs of his grave stone and the cemetery.
