Henry William Johnson served in the 1st Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment in South Africa and was awarded the Q.S.A. with three clasps; the medal being delivered to him when serving with the 2nd Battalion in India. With the onset of the Great War, Johnson was serving as a Sergeant-Major in the York and Lancaster Regiment, attached to the Nigeria Regiment. He was later commissioned a Quartermaster and Lieutenant. Sold with copied Q.S.A. roll extract and m.i.c.
