Arthur Masterton Robertson, who purchased a Cornetcy in the 4th (Royal Irish) Dragoon Guards in May 1846, witnessed active service as a Captain in the Crimea, where he served ‘up to November 1854, including the siege of Sebastopol and the battles of Balaklava and Inkermann’ (Hart’s refers). He retired by the sale of his commission in 1864.
