William Craig was born in Glasgow. An Engineer by occupation, he attested for service in the 7th Dragoon Guards on 28 January 1859, aged 19 years. He attained the rank of Troop Sergeant-Major in April 1874 and claimed his discharge on 3 February 1880. Sold with copied service papers.
