Acting Bombardier J. F. Chapple, 2nd Military District, R.A.G.A. was awarded the Permanent Forces of the Empire Beyond the Seas L.S.& G.C. (Commonwealth Gazette 4 July 1914) and, as a Gunner, was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (Commonwealth Gazette 22 September 1921).
