Charles Lind Lamont Young was born in Mittagong, N.S.W. on 5 July 1879. He was appointed a Midshipman in the Royal Navy in April 1895; Sub Lieutenant, January 1899; Lieutenant, June 1901; Lieutenant Commander, June 1909, and retired as a Commander on 5 July 1919. During the Great War he was serving aboard the battleship Irresistible when she was mined and sunk in the Dardanelles, 18 March 1915. Sold with copied service paper. The published roll records that a duplicate Q.S.A. was issued to Young.
